General Personality Traits |

Big Five - short IPIP version
|
Take a short self-report measure of general personality styles. Currently, the "Big 5" is considered the best approximation of how individuals describe one another. Consequently, it is now the most widely-used approach to understanding the personalities in individuals. We describe these traits as Expressive, Emotional, Interpersonal, Work, and Intellectual Styles.
Scoring: At the end of the test, you will be given your overall scores, descriptions of your styles, and a general discussion of how to interpret them.

Hogan's Big Seven - short IPIP version
|
This is a variant of the Big Five based on Robert Hogan's HPI assessment tool. It measures seven major dimensions of personality by theoretically splitting two Big 5 dimensions. Extraversion is split into Ambition and Sociability. Openness to Experience is split into School Success and Intellectance. This model of general personality tends to fit better than the Big Five with how individuals see their own personalities. Further, it is widely used in personnel selection settings. Hence, it is a highly-recommended test for self-assessment and getting an understanding what aspects of personality are important in the working world.
Scoring: You will be given your seven overall scores with a brief discussion of each.

California Psychological Inventory - IPIP version
|
The California Psychological Inventory is one of the oldest and best personality assessment tools available. This particular test is designed to parallel the original. The test itself measures 20 "folk concepts", that is, it assesses people on the dimensions that average people use to think about themselves. Together, these 20 folk concepts measure interpersonal tendencies, values, intellectual functioning, and personal styles.
Scoring: You will be given scores and interpretation for each folk concept and some information about what certain combinations mean.

The Mini-ME
|
This is a scale intended to measure subclinical personality traits. These traits are considered to be predictive of the ways in which normal people behave badly when a stressful or high pressure situation causes them to react in negative ways.
